October 13th, 2023 at UC Berkeley's Hearst Memorial Mining Building
The Fall 2023 Space Tech Career Fair at Berkeley was the largest student-run aerospace event supported by UC Berkeley's Department of Aerospace Engineering.
The event was kicked off with a keynote speech from Jeanette Quinlan, Director of Program Management at Maxar Technologies.
Following the speech, a panel on careers in space was hosted by Abhishek Tripathi, Director of Mission Operations at Space Sciences Laboratory, and featured panelists Al Tadros, CTO at Redwire Space, Dr. Ioana Cozmuta, Founder and CEO of G-Space, Inc, and Prof. Philip Marcus, Tien-Modak Chancellor’s Chair in Engineering here at UC Berkeley College of Engineering.
After the panel, a networking segment connected students with industry professionals from the Universities Space Research Association, Redwire Space, G-Space Inc, Varda Space Industries, Space Sciences Laboratory, Orbit Fab, Planet, Sandia National Laboratories, VAST, Xona Space Systems, and First Resonance.
The event brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds to share innovative ideas, discover opportunities, and contribute to the development of a brighter future for humanity in space.
The event began with a keynote address from the NewSpace @ Berkeley founder, Aneesh Goel.
Shortly after, our four DeCal student teams presented their work to our company partners Redwire Space, Stoke Space, Space Kinetic, and Xona Space Systems. After students fielded a number of questions from the companies and invited industry leaders, attendees were also given the opportunity to network and form new connections within industry.
