We are a student-led organization at UC Berkeley connecting students to education, industry, and real-world opportunities in the commercial space economy.
Empowering the next generation of space leaders
NewSpace@Berkeley exists to bridge the gap between academic learning and the rapidly evolving commercial space industry. We believe that students from all backgrounds should have access to opportunities in the new space economy.
Through our DeCal course, policy research, events, and industry partnerships, we provide students with hands-on experience, direct exposure to industry leaders, and the skills needed to succeed in space-related careers.
Education, research, and community
Our semester-long DeCal course teaches students about the commercial space industry, startups, regulation, and career paths.
Students conduct research on space policy, regulation, and governance, producing whitepapers on current issues.
We run the annual Berkeley Space Symposium, bringing together students and industry professionals.
We host panels, talks, and workshops throughout the year connecting students with the space industry.
