What you'll do
Work with the Agency Lead & Programs Lead to facilitate the development and operations of the Space Policy program at NewSpace@Berkeley, including scheduling, recruitment, logistics, delivery of policy outcomes to partners, and establishing and maintaining internal and external partnerships relating to the NewSpace@Berkeley Space Policy program
Work with the Agency Lead & Programs Lead on creating proposals, program details, and other documentation for internal and external partners

The Policy Coordinator is a critical operational role for the Policy arm of NewSpace@Berkeley and will directly enable the success of the program from the ground up.

Preferred experience
Some experience writing content of any format and any kind of proof of a strong literary skillset a plus
Familiarity with space policy a plus
Work directly with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) on developing and executing against a cohesive content strategy across various media.
Work with the CMO, Head of Design, & Head of Content by leading NewSpace@Berkeley social media profiles on LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, with potential expansion into other media in the future.

Your impact
The Social Media Manager is responsible for social media content produced by the organization. The work produced under this role will be viewed by representatives of corporate and agency partners, space industry leaders, as well as Berkeley faculty and students. This role is directly responsible for gaining notoriety for NewSpace@Berkeley on social media, with content viewership in the thousands if successful. The role is instrumental in shaping NewSpace@Berkeley’s public identity and voice.
The social media manager will assist with the graphic design of social media posts.

Preferred experience
Experience working with various social media platforms, with an understanding of marketing techniques
Experience with some sort of graphic design platform (Canva, Figma, etc.)
Portfolio or professional experience with leading content at companies a plus but not required
Work directly with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) & Head of Design on developing the NewSpace at Berkeley web presence on mobile and desktop using Webflow
Work with the CMO, Head of Design, and Head of Content on developing and publishing the NewSpace at Berkeley newsletter
Use Webflow to create, maintain, and build functionality for both a desktop and mobile website using specifications and functionality from the Head of Design and CMO
Actively cultivate strong working knowledge of Webflow by both completing official tutorials and using outside resources to continuously learn the features & capabilities of the platform
Assist the Head of Content with platforming, developing, and launching the NewSpace@Berkeley email newsletter using specifications and functionality from the Head of Design and CMO. The newsletter will cover internal events for students, faculty, and external partners

The Web Development Lead is a highly autonomous and collaborative role, responsible for overseeing and maintaining the entire web presence for the organization at an executional level.

Preferred experience
Prior experience with Webflow, Framer, or an equivalent website creation software is required
Prior experience with frontend web development, of any kind, demonstrated in a portfolio (or GitHub) is required
Working knowledge of HTML & CSS is preferred but not required
Professional web development experience of any length is a plus but not required
Work directly with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) on developing and executing against a cohesive content strategy across various media.
Work with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & CMO on polishing copy in outgoing materials like pitch decks, recruitment materials, website, and various documentation, in order to ensure accurate communication of the vision.
Work with the CMO & Head of Design on leading NewSpace@Berkeley social media profiles on LinkedIn and Instagram, with potential expansion into other media in the future.
Lead, develop, and grow the NewSpace@Berkeley email newsletter, which will cover internal events for students, faculty, and external partners.

The work produced under this role will be viewed by representatives from dozens of corporate and agency partners, space industry leaders, and Berkeley faculty. In addition, the role is directly responsible for gaining notoriety for NewSpace@Berkeley on social media, with content viewership in the thousands if successful. The role is instrumental in shaping NewSpace@Berkeley’s public identity and voice.

The Event Coordinator is a critical operational role for the Community arm of NewSpace@Berkeley and will directly enable the success of the events that NewSpace@Berkeley puts on.
Manage all finances for NewSpace at Berkeley while making sure that ASUC regulations are followed - this includes:
Work heavily with the Fundraising Lead to ensure all fundraising goals are being accomplished
Work with the CEO and COO to develop a strategic financial plan and ensure that the organization’s goals can be met

Your impact
As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for managing the finances so that the goals of the organization can be achieved and each vertical in the organization can accomplish their respective objectives. You will also be key in helping NewSpace@Berkeley grow with new partnerships as well as maintaining and developing existing ones.

Preferred experience
Experience of any kind with finance, accounting, and budgeting is required
Prior experience working on the finance side with ASUC or equivalent administrative student bodies is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are highly desired
Someone who is a fast learner and can think quickly on their feet
Someone who is organized and can plan ahead of time effectively
Plan socials/retreat for the organization where members of NewSpace have quality time to bond
Work with the CEO and COO to plan and sort out ideas for events

As Head of Community, you will have full control of planning events internally that give opportunity for organization members to connect + bond.

Experience with event planning of any kind is required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with excellent time management skills preferred
Organizational skills, quick on your feet, and adaptable across industries
Creative and solution oriented
Participate in the NewSpace Economy & Entrepreneurship DeCal course
Learn concepts from industry experts and participate in discussions
Contribute to an industry project related to the NewSpace economy and/or space engineering
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on the project.
Communicate with project mentor/company on project plans and deliverable goals + updates.

Open to learn and putting in the time to ensure project success
Work with the Head of Design on creating new visuals and graphics for our brand

Working with others
Work with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) on upholding and maintaining branding guidelines for the organization’s visual identity
Work with the Head of Content on creating templates for a consistent visual presence on social media and the visual identity of the website
Work cross-functionality with various teams in the organization to produce creative internal and external deliverables for the website, omni-channel campaigns, digital media, catalogs, merchandise, signage, promotions, advertisements and other mediums.
Assist in the production of a variety of assets with understanding of file preparation/die lines/print layouts and printing processes for print and digital applications.
Review image content to ensure proper layout and color as well as research industry trends, techniques and materials and apply to design solutions.

A portfolio of prior design work of any length is preferred
